Disable Local Repositories

If you have the USB Install Disk plugged into the USB port, Debian may default to installing software from the local repository. This may cause errors when trying to update software that is not locally available. You can either remove the USB drive, or remove the cdrom:// source from the Software & Updates app.

You will need to enter your user account password. Once you do that, it may ask you to update your local repository.
