If you're looking for additional privacy from your internet service provider – such as downloading files with qBittorrent or obscuring your AdGuard Home lookups – then subscribing to a VPN service could be an option.

VPN services can also be used to circumvent geo-restrictions, such as a MeTube server that can access Swedish internet content. Gluetun allows individual Docker containers to transmit data through your VPN provider.

Not all VPN providers are created equal. Providers may store logs and submit them to law enforcement agencies when asked. They may have their databases hacked. Some collect data for government surveillance purposes.
